  • Description: The Arctic Training Centre provides accommodations, training and warehouse hangar facilities for the Polar Continental Shelf Program, which provides logistical support to over 1100 Canadian Arctic researchers annually and to the Canadian Forces for arctic training activities.

    ARCAN was engaged to design and build 35 accommodation units, each equipped to house up to 4 persons, and 30,000 sq.ft. with warehouse, hangar and 6 classroom training facilities. The accommodations are a two story modular construction on a pile foundation. The training centre is a pre-engineered steel building on a concrete slab, with thermosyphons beneath to maintain the frozen permafrost.
