- Job: Community Hall & Arena Addition
- Location: Fort McPherson, NT
- Type: Infrastructure – New Addition
- Construction Budget: $4.9 million
- Year Completed: 2021
- Prime Consultant: ARCAN
- Client: Hamlet of Fort McPherson
- Delivery: Design-Build
- Description: The Hamlet of Fort McPherson needed to tear down their community hall which was attached to the community hockey arena due to foundation issues and age. As the building also housed change rooms and washroom facilities for the arena it meant the Hamlet was also without the use of the all important arena.
AARCAN won the competitive bid process to design and construct a new piled foundation, steel & Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) building attached to the arena at the same site of the old building. In addition to providing space for the community hall, 4 change rooms, washroom and catering facilities ARCAN was also able to design in a fitness center with independent access, allowing after hour use. Puck board and skate tile were used throughout the arena operations side for its durability and function, while warmer commercial finishes separate the multi purpose Community Hall.
